"Talk with people who make you see the world differently."

It was difficult for Vail to see throughout his entire life, at least until he met Siren. Born with vision impairment that kept him from his dream career and made him feel like an outsider among his family and peers, it was Siren that made him feel like he belonged. And it was Siren that gave him the gift of clarity.

Everyone is attracted to Siren's happy, carefree attitude, which was what attracted Vail to her in the beginning. She could always light up a room, and when Vail was entering the darkest moments of his life when he felt like he wouldn't amount to anything, it was Siren who gave him a purpose. Her sweet and kind nature lifted his spirits in ways nothing else could, and while he couldn't become a fighter like most of his family, he became Siren's sole protector. And she needed one, too.

Siren was born with gifts other than her ability to make anyone smile. Born from a mixture of magic, her singing was more than just a beautiful melody. Her singing could could make people too happy to remember their worries, or, a much more useful ability in a war torn world, she could put entire armies to sleep. For this, she needed someone who would protect her, which Vail was all too happy to do - especially once he realized how much she would change his life.

His first day assigned to protecting her was the day he fell in love. Siren never had been secretive about her abilities. More so, she was a bit clueless as to exactly the power she had available. She was all too excited to share her gifts with her new friend, and did take him as a friend within seconds of formally meeting him.

Siren grew up having a huge imagination and a love for stories and seeing new places, and was always excited to share her favorite landscapes. Having never seen the true beauty of the world around him, Vail was a bit taken back when Siren started humming while they were relaxing during one of their first days together. It wasn't just music, it was an entire world she was creating. He was in shock as the land around him not only transformed into a gorgeous mountain view, complete with animals he had never seen before and the most perfectly painted, pink and purple skies - but it was all crystal clear. He didn't even know what crystal clear vision was until now. He had never seen something so beautiful in his life.

"What... how are you doing this?" He asked, having rather limited knowledge of exactly what she was capable of at the time.

When she continued humming the melody that seemed to transform everything around him, he decided to just enjoy the views and everything he had never seen before in his life. He could see each individual leaf on the trees around them. He could see every blade of grass dancing in the soft breeze, and every petal floating through the air. When her melody stopped, everything slowly faded away with her voice.

"I thought you would appreciate that." She said, studying his reaction.

"What was that?"

"I guess mostly a place I made up of various things I love. Since it's my imagination, you see it the way I do. At least that's how I understand it works."

"It was beautiful." He said, though his astonishment faded as he looked at her and realized she looked the same as she had before to him: fuzzy.

"Don't worry," she assured him, flopping down against him. "I can do that with ease, whenever you like."

"You shouldn't say that, I might never let you stop." He joked.

"It's a good thing I love to sing, then." She laughed.

She loved how much he appreciated her and what she could do, but mostly she loved that she got to see him in ways many others didn't. He let his guard down around her and actually smiled. He was content, and he knew he never wanted to leave her side.

When they had children, all of them took on a musical gift like their mother - and a few, unfortunately, took on impairments like their father. Just like both of their parents, their kids are all sweet and sensitive, even if some are a bit on the wild side!
